Elish was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended Baker University and earned her degree in Business Management, with Honors. She attended the University of Kansas City-Missouri where she earned her law degree.
During law school, Elish established a successful start-up real estate brokerage company which specializes in commercial and investment transactions nationwide. Elish and her company earned success in the residential market being awarded Top Agent in Kansas City the last five consecutive years.
Elish clerked for the Honorable Commissioner Sherrill Rosen of the 16th Circuit. Elish was a part of a team that researched and developed the Case Management System for Jackson County Courts to streamline the trial process. Elish’s article penned during her clerkship on Appellate and Supreme Court opinions was published in the Family Law Review.
Elish has brokered multi-million dollar development projects at the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. Elish also has overseen several residential developments from their inception.
Elish has extensive transactional experience in the business and real estate arena where she has grown her international network of clients to over 2000 individuals and companies. Elish’s law practice encompasses her experience in real estate and business. As both an investor and a business owner, Elish is acutely aware of the financial and legal challenges businesses face.
While at Douthit Frets, Elish began work with the unclaimed property laws and analyzing the effect and problems with interstate transactions vs. compliance with each state. Elish has taken on a role with Card Compliant, which specifically manages unused funds on gift cards and prepaid cards state to state. Elish is working in the retail and sales arena for an exclusive product that Card Compliant offers to companies to assist with their card programs. Elish is also working in the government sector on behalf of the prepaid and gift card industry.
